Are You Looking for a Natural and Safe Alternative for Adhd Medications?
Are you frustrated that you have not experienced the good results you had hoped for with the conventional ADHD medications that you may be currently using to treat this common disorder? Well, if this describes you, you are not alone, as there are millions of concerned parents who are looking for a safe and an effective alternative to replace the unsafe and sometimes even dangerous conventional drugs.
Once a child has been diagnosed with ADHD, the doctor will usually say that the child’s brain chemistry is not right and quickly prescribes a conventional ADHD medication such as Ritalin to fix the unbalance. Unfortunately, he has not looked for the cause, but only attempts to suppress the symptoms, without addressing the cause. The drug prescribed may have some short term effect, but often has been found to create more problems. Some children simply cannot tolerate any stimulant, no matter how low the dosage, and they get very emotional and have a problem with going to sleep. We must remember that stimulants are not a “cure” but a “temporary fix”.Before treating a child with prescription ADHD medication, the following questions should have been asked. Why is the brain chemistry unbalanced to begin with and what caused the chemical imbalance? Once the cause has been discovered, a good treatment plan would be put in place to help the body restore balance at the cellular level rather than the brain. Numerous studies have shown that conventional prescription drugs alone are not the most effective treatment plan. It may be a quick and easy solution, but most of the time it has proven not to be the best choice. Since Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder affects 3-5% of all children, it is not uncommon that this disorder is often misdiagnosed and treatment plans are not always effective.
If you have tried prescription medication and have not felt successful, please know there are some very good alternatives to conventional ADHD medications that should not be overlooked. All parents need to consider what is the safest and best treatment for their child, and look for a product that is non-addictive to relieve the symptoms. More parents are looking for a more holistic approach, treating the “whole child” with natural herbs and botanical extracts. Treating ADHD using homeopathic remedies, rather than the traditional prescription drugs, have a long history of use in supporting mental, physical and emotional health. There are many herbs and botanical extracts that are “soothing “and are known to reduce restlessness and over-excitability. Just to name a few, the plant extracts from Hyoscyamus helps reduce outbursts, fidgeting and hyperactive behaviors. Tuberculinum is another alternative to the conventional ADHD medications that is quite often being recommended for children who need constant stimulation or for those who get “bored ” easily. It is also beneficial for the relief of irritability, destructive behavior and feelings of discontent. Now, all these ADHD medication solutions must be properly prepared according to the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia and should only be purchased from a reliable manufacturer that has registered facilities and meets FDA approval. The natural ingredients in these remedies support overall health and functioning rather than just suppressing symptoms.

Are there any natural herbs to help a Hyper activity disorder rather than medication in a child?
My child is on medication for adhd and a hyper activity disorder, and I would rather have him be on a natural or herbal substance. Please let me know if you have any idea to help me out .
Thanks!
I actually did a lot of research on this a few years ago when my niece was living with us and her father refused to believe she might have ADD so he wouldn’t authorize any treatment for her. I discovered that in children with this disorder, stimulants have the opposite effect. Several articles I read suggested giving the children things like coffee and/or Mountain Dew for breakfast. We never went the Mountain Dew route, but I did begin giving her a cup of coffee in the morning. I made it about 1/3 coffee and 2/3 milk with some sweetener and she said she felt a difference. Her teacher even noticed and said to me one day, “Whatever you’re doing for her, keep it up!” Like I said, that was a few years ago and she doesn’t live with us anymore. I don’t know what new discoveries have been made in the field of natural treatments, but try the coffee. It’s inexpensive and you probably have some in your house right now. I should warn you though that most of the people who report success with the coffee and/or Mountain Dew have children with mild ADHD. It might not work for a child with a stronger form of it.
