What is the treatment of ADD (adhd-pi)?
What is the pharmaceutical treatment for ADD(adhd-pi)? I’ve googled it, but all I get is medications for ADHD-I, and not ADD. What is the ADD treatment and could you provide a link with information and side-effects?
I need the name of the medication for ADD, I know that it is called ADHD-PI more formally, and walgreens.com has nothing on the medication. I need to know the medication so I can see the side-effects.
First of all the American Psychological Association (APA) distributes a diagnostic manual called the DSM-IV-TR and there is no longer a diagnosis of ADD. There is only a diagnosis of ADHD with three different sub-types.
There are several treatments for ADHD. Medications such as Adderall, Cylert, Ritalin, Straterra, Concerta… If you go to walgreens website there is a great little feature where you can look up medicatoins and it will give you all the side effects ad other useful drug information. There are other forms of treatment though, there is behavioral or cognitive therapies in addition to or in combination with the medications.
