I have an ADHD, aggressive, manipulative, immature employee?
When he’s good; he’s REAL good. But when he’s bad…!
He challenges everything I ask; he gossips; he plays manager against manager; he shows favoritism. He’s good at head games, & sides with female management to pit them against male management. My female manager does not witness the discrepancy.
Any ideas, short of firing him?
Anything I share with him, he turns into a game & tries using it against management.
Find something that uses him up doing his own management. If he’s good enough to keep , a turnaround on a non-productive section or managing a really difficult project might make those qualities you mentioned intraprenurial assets instead of drawbacks. Of course, if he can’t hack, it gives him the opportunity to pee off enough people that nobody will mind if you fire him.
