Can ADHD be treated or helped by drinking coffe or anything with caffiene?
also does anyone know of any home remedies or certain foods or a diet that will help my child with ADHD
Caffeine is a stimulant, but two major studies have shown that caffeine is not an effective treatment for ADHD. While some of the children in these studies did report less “sluggishness,” caffeine can cause agitation and an increase in heart rate in young children — even more of a concern for kids already taking a stimulant medication. Thus, any benefits are probably outweighed by health risks.
Many parents have found that adding protein to their child’s diet can help with symptoms. Protein prevents the surges in blood sugar that may increase hyperactivity.
